MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Well another month is fast passing us by and Christmas is fast again approaching. The run off public holidays is almost over – only Queens Birthday to go; (if we do ever become a Republic, would we lose the Queens Birthday Public Holiday? Now there’s a marketing tool for the Royalist team!).
Well we may not be able to promise you a public holiday, but we can promise you an AGM and some drinks and sandwiches afterwards. The MBN committee acts on your behalf – you the member – and without your support and guidance, we operate on what we believe you want. So why not come along, find out what we have been doing and join us for the AGM and make your vote count. And if you’re not a member, well join on up and enjoy the benefits of membership. And you will actually get to meet all of the Committee members; what an opportunity to talk to us!
P.S. I know this newsletter is a little late, but I have been working on my sun tan in Fiji, earlier this month, and we all know what happens to our work load after a weeks holiday!
And on another note!
Well it has finally happened. There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. I feel so much better now it is off our chests. Can I now say the word in public, without being frowned upon? Will I never be called a negative person, party pooper, reserved, cautious, limiter, depressor, etc, etc again for mentioning the word?
SOMEONE SAID THE “R” WORD!!!!!!! I can’t believe it (and that is not the relationship word as us blokes often joke about!).
WE ARE IN A RECESSION!
That’s right. Kevin 07 has finally given us the news, so batten down the hatches, be cautious, and don’t take any risks, because things are not good.
SORRY – DISAGREE
There are many people, (including the author of the perfect and eloquently constructed newsletter you are currently reading and it is late at night and yes I am tired!), who do not agree with what could be considered public opinion on the “R” word.
Is it fear – and you will have to attend a breakfast to find out my definition of fear – is it following the herd syndrome?
Well our next breakfast in May, may help to provide you the answers. The big secret will be released soon, so put the 21st of May in the diary and watch this space, when we open the bookings for a breakfast that will be entertaining, informative and up-lifting.
So don’t procrastinate.
Book in for the AGM on the 29th April, clear your diaries for the 21st of May in the morning and I will personally look forward to sharing the Committee direction with you next week.
