Examples of situations in which we collect personal information include when you request to be placed on a mailing list or ask about our membership packages or events.

We normally collect personal information and financial information so that we can collect payment for the membership packages we offer or for attendance at one of our events. Your information may also be supplied for the subject of a credit check conducted by a credit agency to protect our ability to recover any outstanding charges.

Examples of secondary purposes for which we use personal information include where we conduct a credit check or where we send you bulletins or information about other products and services that we provide or maybe involved with.

Where we use “cookies” technology on our web site, it is done to allow us to identify your movements around our site, which provides us with needed information for improving our service to members and visitors. We do not use cookies to determine the identity of individual users.

We do not collect information about your sexual preference, race and/or religion, unless you have consented to provide the same or where we are permitted or required by law to do so.

We take all reasonable steps to ensure your personal information remains secure. Our staff are bound by confidentiality undertakings to you that support this privacy statement. Our databases, that house your personal information, have in place the necessary access restrictions to limit control and access to permitted personnel of Melbourne Business Network.

We keep your personal information for the time period necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and for permitted secondary purposes.

We will provide you with access to your personal information that we have on file upon your request. Please provide us with as much detail as you can about the particular information to which you seek access, in order to help us meet your request. An access fee may be charged to cover our costs of providing the information to you.

Refund Policy

Refund Policy Events

The following conditions are both of sale (including any resale or subsequent assignment) and conditions of attendance at any Melbourne Business Network event:

1. If a refund is requested by the purchaser more than 7 business days before the event, Melbourne Business Network may, to the extent permitted by law, grant the refund and retain any fee it has incurred in the administration of supplying and cancelling  that ticket.

2. Seven Business days or less before the event, No refund or exchange will be made on any ticket except as required by law and as otherwise specified by the seller.

3. The right is reserved to add, withdraw, reschedule or substitute artists and / or vary advertised events, prices, venues, seating arrangements and audience capacity.

4. The right is reserved to charge a fee for the replacement of tickets. Melbourne Business Network reserves the right not to replace tickets where seating is not allocated (general admission tickets).

5. The right of admission is reserved and is subject to the seller's and the venue's terms of admission, copies of which are available from Melbourne Business Network on request. Late arrival may result in non-admittance until a suitable break in the event.

6. Cameras, audio and video recorders may not be permitted. The right is reserved to broadcast or telecast or use any photographic material from any event.

7. It may be a condition of entry to individual events that a search of person and / or their possessions will be required at the time of the entry to the venue.

8. Tickets may be transferred to a nominated representative, provided this nomination is advised to and communicated as acceptable by Melbourne Business Network.

9. Tickets may not, without the prior written consent of Melbourne Business Network and the seller, be resold or offered for resale at a premium (including via on-line auction sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services, either by the original purchaser or any subsequent bearer, without the written consent of Melbourne Business Network. If a ticket is sold or used in breach of this condition, the ticket may be cancelled without a refund and the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission.

Refund Policy Membership

The following conditions are both of sale (including any resale or subsequent assignment) and conditions of the purchase of any Melbourne Business Network Membership:

1. There will be No Refund or Exchange on Memberships purchased without written application to Melbourne Business Network.

2. Refunds of Memberships Purchased will be at the discretion of the Melbourne Business Network Committee and will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.
